Hey there, lovely! Are you wondering if working with a life coach or any coach, actually, is the right move for you?

Well, let me drop some truth bombs in this episode today that will light up your path like a disco ball on a Saturday night. Working with a life coach is like giving your life a turbo boost. It’s about saying heck yes to growth, clarity, and becoming the superstar of your own show.

So, if that appeals to you, then this episode of the Life Pilot podcast is definitely for you. I just want you to stay really open-minded about what I’m going to share. Because if you’ve never had a coach before, you may wonder why this episode is worth listening to.

Second, I’m also going to share a little bit of my experience about working with coaches over the last decade, as well as now being a certified holistic life coach practitioner. And I’m going to share, as I said, five reasons why working with a life coach might be perfect for you and one way that you can work with me if you so choose to.

Before we dive in, you are listening to the Life Pilot podcast, and I am the co-founder of Life Pilot, a beautiful tool and methodology that lets you truly get clarity around what matters to you most in life, to set goals and intentions, and to prioritize and plan out your big vision dreams into your everyday reality. You can learn more about it at lifepilot.co.

Okay, so the first reason I believe it’s an awesome idea to invest in a Life Coach is if you’re at that point in your life where you really feel like you’re tripping yourself up. You have been wanting to change things on a deeper level for a long time, and you’re just not getting there.

You have habits that aren’t serving you, behaviours that aren’t working for you, attitudes and mindsets that you just aren’t able to shift by yourself. And I would say, most importantly, you have blind spots. You do, even if you’re an amazing person.

You have blind spots, I have blind spots, and the thing is, they’re blind spots because we can’t see them. But coaches can, and that’s, I think, probably the most important reason to think about working with a Life Coach in your corner.

Reason #1. Clarity

So, number one is clarity, baby. Life can be like a really foggy mirror sometimes, and that’s where a Life Coach comes in. They’re your clarity truth-seeker. They help you wipe away the smudges and see your reflection clearly.

When you work with a Life Coach you’ll get to know yourself on a deeper level. Your passions, your purpose, and the dreams that set your soul on fire.

And with a Life Coach by your side, you won’t just set goals, you’ll set goals that are aligned with your heart. And I guess that’s the difference.

If you struggle to even figure out what your vision for your life is and across the areas of life, like your well-being, wealth, work, lifestyle, relationships, and your own personal growth, then they’re there to help you do that.

Life coaches are really skilled at helping you gain clarity about your life’s direction, about your values and your aspirations, and they can also help you in setting clear and achievable goals. Both short-term and long-term, and help you create a roadmap to reach them.

This will basically give you more clarity, increased focus, and motivation. So if you’re not great at holding yourself accountable, if you’re not great at setting meaningful goals or sticking to them, which let’s be honest, so many people aren’t even writing them down is a struggle for a lot of people.

And if you remember in one of my previous episodes, I talked all about the power of the written goal and how much more effective it makes you.

If you’re interested in knowing more about that, then tune in to episode 14, which was “10 Steps to Design and Actually Live Your Ideal Life.” It was a goodie. And I think you’ll start to appreciate the power of goal and intention setting. And that’s precisely why we created LifePilot over six and a half years ago.

Josh and I use it every single week to set our weekly top threes. And now we use it every single Monday, because we have a toddler in our life. So we’ve recently changed our schedule after six and a half years to do our weekly reflection on a Monday morning over breakfast together.

And it’s a beautiful thing. I’ll talk about that in a future episode. But yeah, this is where, together with your Life Coach, you will focus on what really matters to you.

And even if you have a Life Coach for three or six months, it’ll get you into the habit of being able to then do this by yourself or with your loved one or a friend or just an accountability buddy.

And that’s what we bake into LifePilot as well as doing it with a buddy. But if you need that initial deep-rooted help, guidance, mentorship, and a mirror to where you are struggling and just not changing on a deeper level, then Life Coaches are amazing for that.

Reason #2. Personal Growth

Okay, number two. The second reason to hire a Life Coach is that it’s like personal growth on steroids.

Picture this: you’re on a grand adventure of personal growth, and your Life Coach is your trusty guide. They’re armed with a treasure map of self-discovery exercises, mindset shifts, and skill-building strategies. And together, you’ll embark on a journey that has you transforming into the most badass version of yourself.

It’s like going from being in a karaoke bar, wishing you were the star of the show, to headlining a concert, because you’ve got a Life Coach amplifying your potential. That’s the kind of results you can achieve.

And maybe you don’t want to be on stage at all. But my point is you are showing up on the stage of your life as your best self, uncovering these deep-seated traumas, habits, behaviours, and mindsets that are holding you back.

So from that perspective, it’s awesome. Life Coaches can guide you in identifying areas for personal development and self-improvement unique to you and your situation.

That’s the difference. And we do come armed with a plethora of tools and techniques to enhance your self-awareness, your emotional intelligence, and your communication skills. And if you work on these aspects, you can improve every aspect of your life, especially relationships, decision-making, and your overall well-being.

Reason #3. Accountability

Reason number three is accountability, honey. Remember the buddy who keeps you from hitting snooze and ditching your workout?

Well, a Life Coach is that buddy for your life goals. They’ll give you that gentle nudge or enthusiastic kick in the pants that you need to stay on track. Procrastination is not even going to happen on their watch, right?

And they will give you unwavering support, so that you’ll be crossing off your to-do list, or your get-to-do list, as I like to call it. A Life Coach can hold you accountable for the goals you’ve set and the actions that you need to take to achieve them.

And, as I’ve said before, if you really just dislike doing this or it’s never been a strength of yours, they will do it with you. But they certainly will not do it for you. Very, very big differentiation. A Life Coach is not doing the work for you. That is up to you. They will just make it far easier for you to make change and to do the really important work to get the life that you want.

Reason #4. Get out of your comfort zone

The fourth reason is goodbye comfort zone. Let’s face it, your comfort zone can be cozier than sitting by the fire in your big snuggly bathrobe. But guess what? Nothing groundbreaking ever happened while you were sitting in your comfy bathrobe by a fire doing nothing.

I mean maybe some awesome things happen by a fire blaze and I’m talking about a different kind of thing here, but I’m just talking about you making the most of your life.

Okay, number four, reason number four is perspective. Life can sometimes feel like a maze, right? And it’s like you’re wandering around, bumping into walls, getting lost in the twists and turns.

But a Life Coach, they’re like the watchtower that helps you see the bigger picture. They can see the maze from above and guide you with an eagle eye view.

And they’ll offer insights and perspectives that you might have never even considered. They can help you see situations from different angles, challenge your assumptions, and open your mind to new possibilities.

Remember that your perspective is limited to your own experiences, beliefs, and biases. A Life Coach can help you break through those limitations and broaden your view of what’s possible.

And actually one of the most powerful aspects of working with a Life Coach is that not only are they holding you accountable, but you feel accountable to them and you get to report in and say, Hey, Nat, I did that thing that you suggested I do. I used that tool that you gave me. I did that exercise that we went through last week and here’s how it’s shifted things for me.

And it actually makes you turn up and become more committed and consistent in pursuing your objectives. Because the minute you have somebody in your ball court, as I said, who’s supporting you with unwavering support that your biggest cheerleader, showing you all the ways in which you can grow and be more awesome.

You want to turn up for that. You want to make them proud and show them what you’re doing to progress. And yes, you get to lean on them when you’re having really crappy days and things aren’t going well Or if you feel like you’ve actually taken one step forward and five steps back That is when you get to lean on your Life Coach most.

are your trusty wing woman. I’m a huge fan of Top Gun, but at this point I’m just going to say wing woman because I just happen to know that a lot of people listening to this podcast are women.

So they’re your wing woman or your wing man. And they help you to break down your walls and embrace the thrill of the unknown.

They help you push past fear, try new things, and strut confidently into that uncharted territory. And you’ll be saying hello to growth and goodbye to that comfort zone because. You were born to sparkle on the edge of awesomeness.

And I feel like as a

, that is my job to help you see, and give you the confidence and motivation to step out of the comfort zone, which is where growth happens. Basically, life coaches are skilled at helping you overcome obstacles, your limiting beliefs and self doubt that might be holding you back.

No, I’m going to say that is definitely holding you back. And they provide a supportive and non judgmental space to explore your fears and doubts, helping you shift your mindset and develop resilience. For me, this has been the biggest part of my growth.

Becoming certified as a Holistic Life Coach is using these tools, the reframing, the questions and the understanding and insight to actually help people shift the limiting beliefs and listen to their language and to what they’re really saying.

And to then go back with them into some of these stories from their past to uncover what it is, where they’ve developed this from and how we can overcome it and actually change it for good.

Reason #5. Your Coach is your Cheerleader

And last but not least, number five is your coach is your bestie and your cheeleader. The

effect on confidence is like a magic spell. When you have someone in your corner who believes in you, who sees your potential, and who’s cheering you on every step of the way, your confidence just skyrockets.

It’s like having a personal cheerleader who pumps you up and reminds you of how awesome you are. They’ll celebrate your wins with you, no matter how big or small, and they’ll help you build a solid foundation of self-worth and self-belief.

And if you’ve been struggling with imposter syndrome or self-doubt, a

can help you overcome these barriers and step into your power.

Imagine having a BFF who’s not afraid to tell you what you need to hear, whether it’s a high five or a reality check.

That’s your Life Coach, wrapped up in a fabulous package of guidance and understanding. Basically, we’re your partners in this journey.

We celebrate your wins, we support you through the challenges, and we’re in your corner. You’re never alone as you chase down your juicy dreams. I have often called myself a cheerleader.

It’s in my signature in my email line And I feel like I’ve often got this pom pom and sage advice ready for whatever comes your way.

I am literally jumping up and down in your corner cheering for you, no matter how big or small your wins are. I’ll also say that working with a life coach involves forming a collaborative partnership where your coach is dedicated to your success and growth.

And so are you. As I said earlier, they’re not doing the work for you, you are doing the work. But, they will provide unbiased guidance and feedback, fresh perspectives and alternative viewpoints that you might not have considered.

They’ll show you your blind spots. And this partnership can boost your confidence and empower you to take action that you have been wanting to take for years.

So, there you have it. Five powerful reasons why working with a life coach could be perfect for you. Whether you’re seeking clarity, looking to accelerate your personal growth, needing accountability, craving new perspectives, or aiming to boost your confidence, a life coach can be a game-changer.

Remember, it’s not about admitting you’re struggling or you can’t handle it on your own. It’s about recognizing that you’re worthy of investing in your own growth, happiness, and success. You deserve to have someone in your corner who’s fully dedicated to helping you become the best version of yourself.

One final thought about working with a life coach is that its effectiveness depends on your willingness to engage in the process, be open to change, and actively participate in the coaching sessions.

Therefore, it’s essential to find a coach whose approach aligns with your needs and personality so that you can trust them.

By the way, I’m not saying that you absolutely need to adore the person like they’re going to be your best friend, but you should look for someone who can challenge you in different ways, someone with the experience you seek to embrace for your own growth.

Over time, you might change coaches depending on your requirements. There are coaches for various areas of life, such as health coaches, relationship coaches, personal growth coaches, financial coaches, and more.

However, a life coach can transcend across all those areas. Ultimately, they work with you to live your best life and to become the best version of yourself. The untapped potential within you is what they help bring out if you’re willing to let them in and to help you.

My experience and learnings working with coaches, as a coach

As a coach myself, I’ve been a business coach since 2010, helping people grow their businesses, monetize their endeavours, and attain greater time and financial freedom.

I particularly enjoy group business coaching because participants learn from each other. A problem raised by one person might resonate with others who’ve faced the same issue in different contexts or industries. It’s reassuring to know you’re not alone, and the solutions discussed are likely to apply to your situation as well.

With life coaching, the experience is much more deeply personal. This is why I offer one-on-one sessions and embark on a three- or six-month journey with you to uncover these aspects.

Some of the things you’ll want to share will be profoundly personal, and rest assured, they will remain entirely confidential. The exercises, questions, and methods I use with you may differ entirely from those used with someone else who presents different challenges and growth areas.

I’ve also had my share of coaches over the years. I used to think I didn’t need coaching at all, partly because when I started my business, I felt I couldn’t afford coaching.

In those first couple of years, business growth involves substantial investments, and the idea of investing even more in myself felt daunting.

Looking back, I wish I had invested in a coach, no matter how intimidating it seemed at the time, as it would have accelerated my growth and learning significantly.

But I struggled through and learned a lot on my own, which I’m proud of, but having a coach earlier on would have propelled me forward faster. It wasn’t until I was living in Vancouver that I engaged a coach, initially thinking it was a business coach.

However, he focused primarily on my mindset during our sessions. He turned out to be more of a life coach, working on my beliefs, behaviours, and mindset that were holding me back.

He also addressed my reluctance to be in a relationship, recognizing that it could help me grow, soften, and tap into more of my strengths. He was right, but it took me a few years to come to that realization.

Throughout my business journey, I hired coaches for varying periods, usually between six weeks to six months. Even though I’m quite good at holding myself accountable, I looked to them for growth strategies, uncovering blind spots, and refining my business model to align with my life goals.

They made me feel like I was on the right path and doing the right things, especially when my business was growing successfully.

Over time, new challenges emerge—deeper fears, insecurities, a fear of success. These trigger mindset shifts, behaviours, and habits that require adjustment.

A few years later, I worked with Mia Hewitt, who specializes in mindset and childhood trauma. This experience made me realize that everyone has childhood trauma, even if it’s minor. This revelation led me to invest in personal growth and mindset work.

Your evolution is what matters to me

As a coach myself, I’ve learned a lot from my clients, especially during the practicum. I’ve developed a new level of empathy, understanding, and insight into helping people recognize where they’re holding themselves back.

I’ve learned to listen to their language, beliefs, thought patterns, behaviours, and habits that aren’t serving them and help them replace them with more beneficial ones.

I’ve enjoyed this journey so much that I’ve enrolled in the next level of holistic life coaching, which focuses on modalities for deeper shifts. I’m excited to incorporate these modalities into my sessions with clients.

That said, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve launched my three- and six-month holistic life coaching programs, tailored especially for the evolved version of you.

The concept of evolution has been resonating with me lately, and it seems to be the recurring theme in conversations I’m having. It struck me that the house I live in is named “Evolution,” and I’ve been undergoing rapid personal evolution, especially in the last two years.

Having a coach to navigate through this has been transformative, and it just felt right to use the word “evolve” for my holistic life coaching.

My coaching programs will emphasize both personal and business coaching. If you’re seeking greater richness in your relationships, personal growth, lifestyle freedom, and alignment with your goals, I’m here for you.

I’ve been on a mission for the past 15 years to create freedom, adventure, and business success, and I’m confident in my ability to guide you on this journey. If this piques your interest, I’m offering complimentary discovery calls to explore how you can evolve.

If you’re ready to take the plunge and experience the amazing benefits of working with a life coach, I’m offering a limited number of one-on-one coaching spots.
